It's Almost Time for the Harvest Fair Release Date: Friday, October 10, 2008 12 p.m. The City of Virginia Beach Department of Agriculture will host the annual "Harvest Fair" at the Virginia Beach Farmers Market on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bring the whole family for a day of fun, food and entertainment! Come see the livestock, poultry and antique tractor displays, take a step back in time in the Rural Heritage Center, enjoy make-and-take crafts and old-fashioned country games. Take a wagon ride and tour the Fun Barn. Be sure to catch the judging of the Best Dressed Vegetable contest, the Best Scarecrow contest and the Kids’ Coloring Page contest. For a small fee, kids can also enjoy pony rides, inflatable amusements and other activities. The band Sojorn will provide musical entertainment in the center circle throughout the day. The Virginia Beach Farmers Market is located at 3640 Dam Neck Road on the corner of Dam Neck and Princess Anne Roads. Overflow parking is conveniently located at the City’s Public Works’ facility at the corner of Dam Neck and Rosemont Roads.
